Charity acoustic Concert – Lighting and PA

Posted on:

The UnlikelyI’m working with Mick Bisiker from Rack and Ruin to provide stage lighting and full PA for a charity Acoustic Concert at Napton Village Hall this weekend.

The acoustic music gig is raising funds for Myton Hospice and will take place on Saturday the 19th of October 2019.

As it’s a charity gig we are proving technical support for free. It should not be too much like hard work as both Mick and myself have played many events in the Napton hall and provided lights and sound many times (I was there most recently in the summer lighting the acoustic stage at the Napton Festival).

Artists on the night include The Unlikely (pictured) as well as Tyburn, Under The Influence and Away with the Fairies with MC Dave Fry.  Tickets are available from Colin Sullivan on 07773 398617 or on the door – the event starts at 7.30

Rugby’s Got Talent

Emily Goodwin - Rugby's Got TalentThis is singer Emily Goodwin. Emily is one of the performers in this year’s Rugby’s Got Talent competition.  I’m going to be in Rugby tonight (23rd June 2018) providing sound engineering and a small lighting set up for her performance at fashion emporium CV22 – Rugby – England.

The venue are her sponsor in the competition.  There is more information about the competition on facebook.

Providing accompaniment on guitar and piano will be Duncan Arrow – Music Director of RATT and a former musical collaborator of mine.  Music starts around 7.15pm and runs until around 9.00pm.

Emily is a great singer and admission is free – so come along and enjoy her performance.

Tom Robinson plays live in Rugby

Posted on:

Tom Robinson MusicThe legendary TRB singer and BBC 6Music radio presenter Tom Robinson recently played a short acoustic set at The Rainsbrook Conference Centre, Rugby (CV21 4PN).

I provided the PA and the FOH mix and also provided stage lighting for the show.

The benefit event also included performances from Lorna Dea (a couple of nights before she’d been on stage supporting Paloma Faith at the O2 arena!) and local young female group The Milenniums.
There were also solo singers from Rugby Area Talent Trust or RATT.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable night. The sold out audience were treated to a hit laden set from Tom Robinson including War Baby and several (slightly updated) songs from the TRB Power in the Darkness album which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
